What we do

Want to write songs and produce demos? Welcome to RIMLAB songwriting workshops! Attendance is free of charge, open to all independent of language or musical genres, and does not require prior experience of songwriting or studies in music. Nobody has to perform … unless that is what you want? RIMLAB is part of the Finlandia 2.1 project, which produces a series of concerts in ten different locations in Finland during 2016-2017 with ten young songwriters (you?) performing their own songs. This series goes under the name Finlandia Road Trip and is part of the national Suomi 100 programme.

In RIMLAB sessions we work together to learn more about songwriting. We also produce demo recordings of the new songs, and in some cases we go on to produce music videos. Videos and mini documentaries from the workshops are available through Yle AREENA (see in “music”). Please note that the workshops are filmed, which means that under 18 year olds will need to have a filming permission signed by their custodians prior to attending. The form will be sent to you per email once you’ve signed up. The RIMLAB workshops are part of a non-profit project Finlandia 2.1, which is hosted by Public Information Cultural Factory (Tiedon julkistamisen kulttuuritehdas ry).
